Quantum Error Correction: Noise-Adapted Techniques and Applications

چکیده
The quantum computing devices of today have tens to hundreds qubits that are highly susceptible noise due unwanted interactions with their environment. theory error correction provides a scheme by which the effects such on states can be mitigated, paving way for realising robust, scalable computers. In this article we survey current landscape correcting (QEC) codes, focusing recent theoretical advances in domain noise-adapted QEC, and highlighting some key open questions. We also discuss interesting connections emerged between adaptive QEC techniques fundamental physics, especially areas many-body physics cosmology. conclude brief review fault tolerance gives quantitative estimate physical threshold below error-resilient computation is possible.

Quantum Error Correction in correlated quantum noise
The superiority of quantum computation over conventional computation relies on the fact that a quantumbit (qubit) register can be in the superposition of a very large number of classical computational states. At the same time, maintaining coherence of this highly superpositional state poses also the main obstacle for the realization of a quantum computer. For a small number of qubits this diffi...

متن کاملHamiltonian Formulation of Quantum Error Correction and Correlated Noise
We analyze the long time behavior of a quantum computer running a quantum error correction (QEC) code in the presence of a correlated environment. Starting from a Hamiltonian formulation of realistic noise models, and assuming that QEC is indeed possible, we find formal expressions for the probability of a given syndrome history and the associated residual decoherence encoded in the reduced den...
متن کاملOverhead and noise threshold of fault-tolerant quantum error correction
Fault tolerant quantum error correction (QEC) networks are studied by a combination of numerical and approximate analytical treatments. The probability of failure of the recovery operation is calculated for a variety of CSS codes, including large block codes and concatenated codes. Recent insights into the syndrome extraction process, which render the whole process more efficient and more noise...
